IDIOPATHIC CONDYLAR RESORPTION
Idiopathic condylar resorption is a condition that predominantly occurs in adolescent females where the temporomandibular joint condyles erode away and shorten the mandibular length. These patients often present with an Anterior Open Bite(AOB) where the front teeth do not meet and only the back teeth are biting. This often progresses over years. Other features can include a steep angle of the lower jaw and a chin which looks smaller with prominent upper teeth.

This is an edited photo of a patient with ICR over a 3 year period. You can see that the chin has retruded in that time period.
